Eat All You Can In SM North – Top 5
I’ve been on a diet for two weeks and all I’ve lost is two weeks. – Totie Fields
Humans are inherently drawn to food, and that is precisely the reason why buffet restaurants are such big hits in many countries like the Philippines. In fact, it is the primary reason why more and more restaurants are beginning to venture out and jump into the Eat All You Can segment of the food industry.
SM North, one of the biggest malls in the country, is a very common go-to place of Filipinos craving for their favorite dishes — may they be authentic Filipino specialties or cuisines from other countries. To help you decide which buffet restaurant you should go to the next time you find yourself in SM North, we’ve compiled a list of the 5 most sought-after restaurants offering Eat All You Can In SM North EDSA. Check it out!
1. Vikings

Popular among its regulars for its “birthday promo”, Vikings continue to emerge in the very competitive world of buffet restaurants and has been making quite the name in Eat All You Can In SM North. Vikings offers a mix of Asian and European cuisines with an addition of a lot of our well-loved Filipino dishes.

Ambiance: ★★★★☆
Call it feng shui, good architectural measurement or whatever, some rooms just feel right, and this vast dining area is one of those. The interior design might be best described as gorgeous, as the room was elegantly designed with “bonggacious” draping lights, sturdy tables and chairs. The ambiance at this branch is always busy. Tables are more packed together as compared to other Vikings branches, making the place also tad buzzier. Despite this, customers are kept in check by personable staff to have a good time.
Food: ★★★★★
Craving light food as the weather warms? Put this Chicago Summer Corn Salad on your list of must-eats. I usually don’t fancy eating salads as an appetizer at buffet meals because they’re downright simple and easy to do. I think that most of us would rather get those that are more extravagant and sophisticated ones. Anyway, this salad was refreshing with an appealing wholesome bent.

I always enjoy their carving station; Angus Beef, Turkey and Lamb Leg never fail to amaze my taste buds. I am not a pork eater for personal reason thus I can’t give any feedback about their roast pork which they offer if you are paying an 888 meal, LOL. In short, you’ll find just two meaty chunks, usually beef and lamb, at their carving station for a 688 meal.

The place is huge! We were amazed by how much food and drink Vikings had to offer. We’ve been to most of the popular buffets in the city but Vikings is entirely on a different level in terms of selection. We were told they have at least 200 dishes!

2. Seoul Garden

Jumping into the competition between restaurants offering Eat All You Can In SM North is the first ever installment of Seoul Garden in the Philippines. After gaining success in other Asian countries like Singapore and Indonesia, Seoul Garden is ready to wow Filipinos with a Korean-styled DIY BBQ buffet and a unique hotpot dining concept.

But what makes Walter & I go back to this restaurant over & over is the fact that you get to cook your own food. So the buffet area will be consists of raw meat/vegetables. Then you pick out what you fancy! Although the meat are already pre-seasoned, the novelty of cooking your own food & you can eat it piping hot makes this one of our favorite restaurants…

So after we got all our food from the spread, we went to our seats and I was really surprised with the size of the grill and hotpot.
It was really small. Far from the other buffet restaurants we tried before. It may look big in the picture but trust me, you’ll have a hard time grilling.
…
They have asado and bola-bola siopao which were like 95% bun 5% filling.

Overall, we were not impressed with the variety and selection of food that they have. Very minimal – from meat to veggies to dessert. And a number of meats tasted the same whether it was chicken, beef or pork. Their available fruits were ONLY three. On the good side though, they have unlimited drinks – soda, red iced tea.
For Php645/pax plus service tax, I’d prefer to go to other buffet restaurant.

Yakimix has always been a top choice for those looking to have some Asian cuisine. It entices its customers not only with delicious food but also with affordable buffet promos which makes it an exciting addition to our list of restaurants specializing in Eat All You Can In SM North.

There are variety of Asian cuisine to choose from that is properly organized in their buffet table. Mostly are raw but already seasoned with flavors and ready to cook like shrimp, pork, beef, fish and veggies where you can cook in their smokeless grill-sounds cool isn’t??? grilling inside an air-condition room yet you be able to get away with annoying smoke and smell. There are also plenty offruits and salad, ice cream, cakes and pastries. Of course a lot of sushi and sashimi. Unlimited food and drinks for just P620.00/head is not bad. Though, i wasn’t be able to enjoy the food that much because I am not in the mood eating a lot at that time but the food really taste great and reasonable.

I really like their sushi!
Especially their pink salmon sashimi! They’re always fresh.
Imagine being able to eat as much as you can without worrying about the bill anymore.
I know how expensive sushis can get when you eat at some ala carte restaurants.

4. Barrio Fiesta
We’ve had European, Australian, and Asian cuisines, but now it’s time to focus on and celebrate our own. Barrio Fiesta is best known for its delectable authentic Pinoy dishes. Let’s see if it makes the cut for the best buffet restaurants in SM North.
To sum it up, our experienced at Barrio Fiesta was the most satisfying experienced we ever had! With only Php 150.00 you’ll be able to taste pure Filipino merienda at Barrio Fiesta! It’s totally worth your money! And I promise to come back there when I have my free time. I want to taste all of the food I wasn’t able to taste during my first visit. I would give Barrio Fiesta’s Merienda Buffet a score of 7.5/10! It is because they were able to surpass my expectations and the food was very delicious with a very affordable price of Php 150.00!

As for the bad points, ugh…
1. It took them forever to bring out our order. OUR ORDER SPECIFICALLY.
Why ours specifically? Because the food at the table next to ours came 15 minutes earlier. It would have been okay if I knew that they came before us or that our food was much longer to prepare but for some reason, we had to follow up twice before our order was out. Mind you, we only had Paella rice(more on this later) and Chicken while they had Patatim, Kare-kare, and pancit bihon. Was it the fact that we had a voucher??

5. Cabalen
With its name derived from the Campampangan word which means “fellow Capampangan”, Cabalen is an Eat All You Can In SM North which specializes on allowing its customers to experience what authentic Capampangan dishes are without having to travel all the way to Pampanga.
Hubby and I both liked their kare-kare but generally, after eating, we were both disappointed with our dining experience at Cabalen. Okay, the 300 plus does not include the drinks so if you are going to order bottomless iced tea, you still need to pay Php 60. I was like… so it means we have to spend more or less 400 pesos each? I really felt that it was not worth it so we did not order drinks.

I spoke with one of the servers just to give praise to their Dinuguan. They said that this was also one of their bestsellers and had won awards. I’m very particular when it comes to dinuguan, some make it too viscous and ruin the taste. This one has a watery consistency, with a bit of vinegar flavor blending perfectly with the added kick of spiciness. This is just perfect.
…
I would agree when they say that Cabalen is one of the best buffet restaurants in the country. My only wish was that they had more offerings in the desserts section… like bibingka, cuchinta, and others.
