Reviews About Joven’s Grill & Seafood Restaurant

Below is a review from Tin Zablan-Centeno when they visited Joven’s Grill to take their lunch as part of their Cebu tour.

Because of their super cheap rates, I was not surprised to see lots of students.  Price is around 220 for lunch/dinner. If you’re after quality, then I wouldn’t recommend this to you. But then again, we have different tastes. You might find some of their food items delicious.

Rating: 3/5
They don’t really have a lot of dishes to choose from in their Shopwise branch, BUT the dishes were diverse. Japanese treats included sushi of various kinds – salmon, tuna, vegetable and some others I did not try; Chinese dishes included siomai, dumplings, empress rolls and a couple more; Filipino dishes include fat crabs, buttered chicken, humba, adobo, bihon, rice and some vegetables.

They also had fruits and desserts! They had pineapples, watermelons, sliced apples and at least three different kinds of pastries to choose from.

Rating: 4/5
The place although small, was surprisingly clean. I loved how quaint their lighting fixtures were.

The Grand Majestic Restaurant

If you are looking for a Chinese cuisine, the best place to go is the Grand Majestic Restaurant. It offers a buffet with a price range of 100-500 pesos only person.

Grand Majestic Restaurant Reviews

The following is a review posted by Marlen Limpag in her blog at

Good food at an affordable price is what Grand Majestic, one of three restaurants at the Grand Convention Center in Cebu City, aims to provide customers.

Grand Majestic Buffet

Although many of Grand Majestic’s dishes are Chinese-influenced Filipino fare, there are sections that carry international flavors. There’s a Japanese food display, carving station for steak, as well as dessert and salad bars.

Grand Majestic serves noodles and dim sum as well.

Here is another review from Carlo Andrew Alano about the Grand Majestic Restaurant at Ayala Center Cebu.

The interiors of the new branch are sleek and I love the hue of green and the use of wood.  Being one of the most popular Chinese restaurants in Cebu, I am glad that the owners finally decided to open a restaurant in the new wing of Ayala.  I am quite confident that they will succeed there despite the presence of newer restaurants.  When we ate there, the place was really packed.

Special Recommendation: Try their Snow Ice Halo-Halo It is one of the best ever Halo-Halo that I tasted!

Reviews for Ding Qua Qua Dimsum

Below is a review from Carlo Andrew Olano about the foods at Ding Qua Qua. They have celebrated the birthday of one of his friends there.

You can have as much siomai as you want. In the buffet, there are 2 kinds of siomai; the original and quail egg. You can ask the waiters to give you some chili sauce to give your siomai some spiciness.

Ding Qua Qua Buffet

Ding Qua Qua is an excellent choice for small birthday celebrations. The eat-all-you-can buffet has enough choices to satisfy any hungry Cebuano. The price is really affordable and it can compete well with the buffets of similar price points.

AAA Diamond Tongs Restaurant

Next in line with Cebu’s best and affordable eat all you can buffet is the Diamond Tongs Restaurant. At Php299 per head, you can already fill in your tummy with a wide variety of delicious foods.

Diamond Tongs Restaurant

Below is a review from Jenny Suarez posted at about her dining experience at AAA Diamond Tongs.

I recently discovered the AAA Diamond Tongs Restaurant in Mabolo, Cebu City.  For a first-timer in this eat-all-you-can-seafood restaurant, I give them a thumbs up, not only for their great food but for providing quality service as well.

The baked talaba (oysters) was so delicious that it was easily my best pick.  They serve Filipino cuisine, which include crispy kangkong, sautéed shrimp, vegetable spring roll, chicken pandan, steamed fish, calamares (squid) and vegetable salad.  For desserts, you can choose from fresh fruits to delectable salads.  I had a hard time resisting all these food so I had a little of everything placed on the table.

Royal Concourse

Royal Concourse is one of the cheapest all you can eat restaurants in Cebu City with a large variety of dishes to choose from. Their buffet price starts at Php 218 only.

Royal Concourse Restaurant

Below is a review posted at last December 29, 2013.

Frankly, it was a mistake going there.  It was like an enormous school cafeteria with people lining up and piling their plates with food which they couldn’t finish. The selection would have been good if only the more popular ones did not disappear the moment they were placed in the chafing dish.  In fact, at the Crispy Pata and Grilled Meat corner, the people couldn’t even wait for their turn with the tongs that they just got pieces of the delectable meat with their bare hands!

Royal Concourse Buffet

Since I was not happy with my main course, I turned my attention to dessert instead. The pineapple squares were soft and delicious. The shells cooked in sweet and sour sauce was also addicting.  My first time to eat them and I couldn’t get enough.

The Port Seafood Restaurant

The restaurant offers delicious dishes at affordable prices. Aside from the usual lunch and dinner buffet, they also offer a late dinner buffet that costs below 200 pesos, (drinks not included) – from10:30 PM to 2 AM.

Here is a review posted at to give you idea about the place and variety of foods being offered at the restaurant.

We all enjoyed the Lechon which is tender and full of flavor. However, we were disappointed with most of the dishes served especially Sizzling Squid and Fried Squid. I’m guessing they used frozen squid since it lacks flavor. I liked one particular dish though which is Humba. The rest of the dishes served are mediocre. I know, I should have not expected much considering the price of the buffet.
As for the service, I can say that it is quite good. Wait staff are all attentive to everybody’s needs which is a plus.

Here is another review from Pepe Samson about Port Seafood Restaurant.

For two straight nights I was here, enjoying their Late Night Buffet (P149, but which I availed for free!) flocked by yuppies doing night shifts. A live band performs as you eat your way through your midnight snack consisting of pasta (cooked upon request), omelets, salads, nachos, seaweeds, fries, and other varieties of light dishes and appetizers. The restaurant serves a selection of wines and liquor as well, so you can lounge around to good food and relaxing music.

The restaurant has a very  lovely old world interiors. It transports you back in a different era. Its like having a meal “somewhere in time.”

Stuffed Squid with Paella. OMG! The squid was fresh and cooked perfectly, not rubbery. Of course, I skipped eating the paella (rice). I’m pretty sure it tasted great.

Here is another review from a blog that was posted  at

1. The food was good. The balbacua was yummy – unlike those served in the usual “kilid-kilid” eateries, their balbacua had a lot of ingredients and even had peanuts. Their chicken barbeque and pork belly was also good. I ate two and a half servings of rice! 😉

2. The dining staff wasn’t great. They weren’t very enthusiastic and seemed sluggish and sleepy. The “kilid-kilid” eateries staff were definitely more lively and accommodating. On the bright side, the security guard was very friendly and helpful though.

Panda Star Buffet

At Panda Star Buffet and Restaurant, you can already enjoy a food variety of Asian Cusine. They offer lunch buffet at PHP 229 and dinner buffet at PHP 259 only.

To give you more idea how good is their buffet, see the following review from

Check out the food spread which offers a wide range of Asian Cuisine from steamed rice, hot food like siopao and siomai. They have soft served, desserts, popcorn and bottomless iced tea and juice. The staff is beyond attentive, they pop up randomly seeing that you no longer have drinks offering a cold full glass.

If you are looking for a place with casual atmosphere, good grub and bottomless drinks then this is the best one in the city.

The interiors is a contrast black and white with red and white tables and chairs staying true to the quirky and cute panda. Its a big enough place with ample tables and chairs for big gatherings. It can seat up to 200 people with a separate room that can accommodate 30 people for private functions.

The food is mostly chinese (which I love!) Steamed rice, siomai, siopao are some of the hits.

Isidra Comfort Cantina

One of the most affordable buffet restaurant at Cebu is the Isidra Comfort Cantina. Their eat all you can buffet costs only Php149 only head.

Maybe you will wonder how delicious the food be like if it costs 149 pesos only. To find out, you can check the following reviews before trying to eat at Isidra Comfort Cantina.

The first review was posted by Riggy at

Their daily lunch buffet is very affordable and they keep it interesting because the food choices vary each day.

On Mondays, they will have you singing “Turning Japanese” because that is exactly the cuisine they serve for lunch. On Tuesdays, they tickle your taste buds with Mediterranean flavors. On Wednesdays and Fridays, you are in familiar territory with the Filipino dishes they have available on their buffet menu. It’s Asian fusion Saturdays and on Fridays, they tease you with their zesty and flavorful Mexican dishes.

Their desserts will have you forgetting your name!

To visit Isidra Comfort Cantina and not sample their dessert selections is a mortal sin! Seriously, you have to try them! I was able to sample their Tres Leches and Oreo Ivory and they’re pure gold. They’re like perfect pick-me-uppers if you are having an insufficient supply of happy hormones. They would instantly put you into celebratory mode.

Tres Leches is their play on sugar, cinnamon, and fresh milk generously drizzled on smooth and velvety pastry.

  5. Mouth-watering desserts.
  6. They have new stuff on their menu. They had Ilocos’ favorite, Bagnet, the last time I was there.

Kogi-Q Restaurant

To know more about the place and Kogi-Q restaurant’s specialty, check out the following review posted at Laagsuroyatbp blog spot.

Kogi-Q practices self-service which means, you get all the food you want, bring it to your table and cook it on your own. Same story goes with your drink. This strategy allows them to check if there is still enough food left, clean used tables and accommodate incoming customers. When we went there, it was only their 4th day in business but they handled the place professionally. If we did not ask, we would not have known.

As I have stated above, they offer a lot for only Php 270.00.What was available when we were there were samgyeopsal, chicken wings, chorizo, chicken liver on stick, Chilean mussels and squid rings. For their drinks they offered water and bottomless iced tea. They also have Chinese cabbage and kimchi for no additional cost. For an additional Php 100.00 you can get unlimited beef and shrimps but everyone in the table has to pay the extra hundred.
